Who is running for Palm Beach County Commission in 2022?
On August 23, 2022, voters will vote in the 2022 primaries to decide who will appear on the general election ballot to serve them in the coming years.
There are three county commission seats up for election this year and if you want to decide who wins, then you must be a registered voter. You can check your voter status here: https://registration.elections.myflorida.com/CheckVoterStatus. If you have not registered to vote, you can do so here: https://registertovoteflorida.gov/home and you must do so by July 25, 2022, in order to vote in the primary election.
While three county commission seats are up for election this year, only one seat will be on the primary ballot (August 23rd), and that is the Palm Beach County District 6 with three Democrats in the running. The other two seats will be decided in the general election on November 8, 2022.
District 6 encompasses the very western part of the county (see map here) and includes cities like Wellington, Belle Glade, Pahokee, and Royal Palm Beach, among other cities.
The Democratic winner of District 6 in the primary will face Republican Sara Baxter. The three Democratic primary candidates are Michelle McGovern, Sylvia L. Sharps, and Matt Willhite.
The other two districts up in the general election (November 8th) are District 2 and District 4. In District 2, Republican Jeffrey Francis Skene will face Democrat Gregg Weiss. We could not find a website for Mr. Skene; however, here is a link to his personal Facebook page. Mr. Weiss’ campaign website can be found here.
