Massie and Roy: 'Libertarian' Hopefuls for Speaker of the House
Conservative mavericks offer a new direction in turbulent political landscape
As expected, Jim Jordan did not make it through the rigorous process of becoming the next Speaker of the U.S. House. In the turbulent landscape of American politics, where alliances shift like sand dunes in a desert storm, and the winds of change blow ceaselessly, there emerges a critical question: with Jim Jordan out, who should be nominated for Speaker of the House?
The contenders in the ring are numerous, but perhaps the best choices would be Thomas Massie and Chip Roy, two conservative libertarian stalwarts who are not bound by unswerving loyalty to the former President or even the GOP. After all, both Roy and Massie have angered many mainstream Republicans because they have refused to just go along to get along. They value their principles over their political party. In a world where ideological rigidity often reigns supreme, these two men offer a glimmer of hope for those who value principled politics over blind partisanship.
So, I throw Massie and Roy’s name into the hat for U.S. Speaker of the House.
