Kash Patel at FBI Director Hearing Pledges Transparency on Epstein Case: Roll Out the Black Book
Amidst Confirmation Hearing, Trump Nominee Promises to Combat "Deep State" Secrecy and Unveil Epstein's Connections
On January 30, 2025, Kash Patel, President Donald Trump's nominee for FBI Director, appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee for his confirmation hearing. In addition to several other issues that the Senators brought up, Patel was that of Jeffrey Epstein and his network of sex trafficking and those he associated with. I have written extensively about Jeffrey Epstein and his right-hand lady, Ghislaine Maxwell, so this piqued my interest.
The slogans “Jeffrey Epstein Didn’t Kill Himself” and “Where’s the Epstein Client List” have been sweeping the country for years as there have been so many unanswered questions about his death and his associates. Senator Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee asked Patel about his stance on the Epstein case. Epstein died in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. Patel promised to collaborate with Sen. Blackburn to reveal more about the Epstein scandal, emphasizing his intention to uncover any hidden aspects of the case and who enabled his sex trafficking ring. Patel’s pledge was seen as a response to the public's and some legislators' demand for more transparency regarding the Epstein case, especially after the release of previously redacted court documents in 2024 that named nearly 200 individuals linked to Epstein and his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell.
Before and during the hearing, Patel has put himself out there as an advocate against government overreach and corruption, which he refers to as the “deep state.” After all, the Epstein client list has never been revealed, even though Ghislaine Maxwell is serving a 20-year sentence for helping Epstein with their sexual abuse ring. Which older men were these underage girls having sex with? The FBI has thousands of hours of evidence of these sex acts happening, yet none of the “Johns” have been prosecuted, and the tapes have yet to see a courtroom.
During yesterday’s hearing, Patel said that the FBI Director controls Epstein's black book. On day one, Roll out the black book and the pipe bomber video. Classification and secrecy are tools to protect the deep state; therefore, we should continuously declassify.
Patel attempted to quell some fears that he would continue to politicize the FBI, as has been the case with the Biden administration. He promised not to engage in “retributive actions.” He focused on the FBI's core law enforcement and national security mission, promising to fight corruption within the agency and restore public trust.
