Florida Voters Face Crucial Ballot Decisions in November
From Abortion to Marijuana Legalization: 5 Key Amendments Await Decision
Voters in Florida will decide on 5 key items when they go to the polls to vote this November. This is in addition to who voters will decide to represent them from Tallahassee to D.C.
Amendment 1: Allowing partisan elections for school boards around the state. Currently, candidates run non-partisan, and if this measure passes, future elections will reveal for which political party they are branded.
Amendment 2: Further establishes an individual’s right to fish and hunt, yet it does not limit the authority of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Amendment 3: Would allow adults 21 years or older to possess, purchase, or use marijuana products and marijuana accessories for non-medical personal consumption by smoking, ingestion, or otherwise.
Amendment 4: This would keep the government from prohibiting, penalizing, delaying, or restricting abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient's health, as determined by the patient's healthcare provider.
Amendment 5: This would require an annual adjustment for inflation to the value of current or future homestead exemptions on real estate.
