Biden's Silent Battle: Cognitive Tests and the Age Factor
As Biden shies away from cognitive tests, Americans question transparency and ponder the need for fresh faces in politics
Biden's age and the unfavorable percentage of people who think that is the most important thing that we should talk about is that President Biden has decided to not go to a cognitive test as part of his annual physical exam, it's not the first time it's ever happened. While President Trump didn't disclose his tax returns, Trump seems cognitively “with it” and thereby would not fundamentally compromise his abilities to lead the country.
Joe Biden will be 82 at the start of the second term, should he be re-elected President of the United States in November 2024. At the close of his second term, he will be 86 -- by far the oldest president ever. Trump is 77, he will be 81 at the end of his presidency should he be elected president later this year. The idea about both leading presidential candidates being up in age is not what is so important; what is important is their cognitive abilities to run the country.
Americans have a right to know who is running the country. For instance, when Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin went “missing,” not only weren’t Americans notified, it seemed many in the Biden administration, nor members of Congress, were not informed. Meanwhile, KJP tells America: Nothing to see here, let’s move on.
Is it time to explore other qualified presidential candidates, outside those put up by the two old political parties? And what kind of “monkey wrench” does that put on the political party duopoly we have in America.
Elon Musk stated last week on X that, “Passing a basic cognitive test should not be optional for someone who controls the nuclear football!.” And I think that that is part of the fundamental issue that I have with the Biden admins deciding not to do a cognitive test for Biden, just increases the risk that you could have somebody that was fundamentally unelected, running and making major decisions. And I think that is a huge issue. Remember, Trump took a cognitive test while president, and I’m sure would be willing to do another, so long as the other presidential candidates did the same. And it's an enormous reason why, for me, when Biden’s handlers chose not to do a cognitive test and not to allow Biden to debate others, was the straw that broke the camel's back for me and apparently a growing number of Democrats; and why I just absolutely cannot vote for Biden. While many have been trying to find reasons to support him, his support among Americans and even Democrats is on the decline.
This is not what stability looks like, nor transparency -- both issues we were promised with a Biden presidency. And I go again, back to this very simple thing, a cognitive test for somebody that can control the ability for us to go to war, or for us to completely eviscerate entire populations or weaponry that he controls should be something that is of serious consideration. You can't skip it. This is not a thing where it's a nice to have, I think it's a must-have and in the absence of it, I think it compromises his ability to be a legitimate choice for being the next president.
The majority of Americans are saying ABC's new random poll 86% of Americans think Biden is too old to serve anymore. Just like it was a tell that Biden’s team refused to do the Super Bowl interview and instead put out a gaslit commercial on “shrinkflation.” In that, he blamed companies, when it has been his administration and prior administrations who have caused the inflation we see today. The Super Bowl interview is the most softball interview that Biden could have, which most presidents have done. And they refuse to do that, obviously because his aides and advisers are nervous about how that might go. And the Hur report came out, where the Special Counsel investigated the classified documents case for Biden, determining that Biden was not fit to stand trial. Well, if he doesn’t have the memory or the cognitive ability to stand trial, then how can he be running a country? The simple conclusion is that he is not in charge, nor making any major decisions; from Day One, his “team” is making decisions for him and propping him up. How is this not elderly abuse? That's the situation we're in. He can't stand for trial, but he's still running to continue to be President of the United States. It’s an absurdity. Yeah. And the thing that was most damning about the Hur report was not just what the Special Counsel stated, but it was the White House’s reaction to it. He demanded that he wanted to go out and do a press conference, that very day to refute the idea that his memory was bad or that he was you know, and he then did this press conference, and it completely backfired. He came across as kind of an old man shaking his fist and yelling, basically, confirming the Hur report. And then the thing that he got wrong was he confused Egypt for Mexico about the whole crisis in Gaza. So it would have been one thing if it was just Hur saying that Biden was senile, but then Biden himself came out and confirmed it by making these mistakes and gaffs. So they know they have a problem. How could anyone be in favor of voting for Biden and when do Democrats change their position? So in the same way Biden is clearly worse than he was when elected in 2020, it's going to be worse moving forward, so how can you vote for someone in such obvious mental decline? Again, where is Jill Biden in all this? Why is she not protecting her husband from this melee?
Should the President make a positive gesture and take a test? Should it be just a 35-year minimum age, I was asking you to be specific, you can make him take a cognitive test. But the point is that let's say the doctor says he's cognitively impaired, what does the Democratic Party do then? That is likely why they are declining to have him take the test, as they know it is a failure. While I'm not saying that the results should bar Biden, or any candidate, from the ability to run. It should still be up to the voters. But just like we would make sure that acute or chronic health conditions were well understood. So the only person who's stood up to all of this is Dean Phillips, yet he has been railroaded by the Democratic Party machine from even being able to put that issue on the table so that the voters can decide my fundamental view is that voters should decide but all of these tests should be done. While I don't think a cognitive test should be the law, because you're starting to get into edge cases where you'll create lots of different requirements, there are a lot of ways that folks can game a test, and perhaps we need to create new systems for new criteria.
The system of our constitutional republic is meant to solve these problems. Our system is meant to allow individual voters to say, that we've judged that someone is who were prefer to represent us, and that requires transparency and a media that does not obfiscate facts about certain candidates while sensationalizing other candidates. This is what the voters are saying and doing right now. Based on the polling data, the majority of voters in the United States are saying we do not think Biden is equipped to be president. Rather than respond to that with a cognitive test. We must consider Trump or another candidate, yet we must rule out Biden.
And it speaks more to the problem with the powers within the Democratic Party, and how the electoral system works in the United States today, where the insiders get to decide who the nominee is for the party. and those insiders are self-dealing, enabling the rubber stamping of bills and priorities. It is very unfair and very undemocratic. This leads to the individual voters rising, saying they want a third party or an independent candidate, because the way that this two-party duopoly system works and the way that the caucus system works is unfair, or we end up seeing a really unfortunate outcome.
It is the responsibility of the citizens of this country, to step up and not lose faith, but to take action to resolve to a solution. If enough of us get together and say there should be a third party, or we do not want this individual to be the candidate for letting the insiders separate firms of the caucus third party is even more and more viable. Let’s not forget the case of Ross Perot getting 19% of the presidential votes, and the powers that be, made sure something like that was never going to happen again. However, here we are in 2024 with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. looking pretty favorable compared to Biden, as an independent, and after being mistreated by the Democratic Party forcing Kennedy to go independent, while the third party candidate is dismissed all the time it is completely possible this time around, if not a win, then having a major impact. And if that happens, the two older parties have no one to blame but themselves. So maybe this is the time that this is the breakout season for it.
No Labels remains silent, so who knows what, if any, impact they will have in November. Personally, I think, the Democratic Party’s betting all their chips on Biden is a huge mistake, unless the intent was to get Trump elected for a second round.
