AI's Massive Growth: Transforming Life, One Innovation at a Time
From CGI to Customer Service: AI's Rapid Expansion into Daily Life
Artificial intelligence (AI) is experiencing massive growth over the last few years in many aspects of our lives. We have been using computers to alter images, proofread text, CGI in movies, and help with customer service. But today’s AI is the past on steroids, entrenching itself in all aspects of our lives, and is getting more advanced by the week.
Most of the public is familiar with CHATGPT or GEMINI, though there are many lesser-known applications available to the retail consumer that will eventually make lives easier, so long as the general public is ready for its adoption. Other retail applications are Claude, GitHub Copilot, and AI Voice Generators. These tools and others for large corporate enterprise solutions will increase productivity dramatically over the next five years, albeit at a potential cost of certain jobs, as business streamlines jobs in customer service, writing, drawing up of contracts, and yes self-driving cars - finally. While the productivity will be like a hockey stick on a chart, it will also create new jobs, many of which we cannot know at this time.
In the next five years, the public can expect to see true self-driving cars, and excellent digital assistants that will help automate much of our lives. Tasks like content development, scheduling, generating a fitness plan, and designing a landscape design for your home, will be done in a few minutes, if not automatically. With AI, we should see improved accuracy and efficiencies in our personal and business lives, which is a positive, of course. As human errors dwindle, this should help the healthcare and finance industries, especially.
I do remain concerned that people will be inputting detailed information about their lives that these large corporations may or may not delete, though that is up to each individual’s comfort level. Some are already using some of these tools in place of a physical psychologist, which may be great, who knows? I feel we should be advancing slowly in this department as a user’s information could be exposed to a malicious data breach in the future.
Future entertainment will continue to utilize the tools of AI, well and above the use of past CGI technologies. Pixar has been a long-time developer of movies that have been using solely computers to create blockbuster films. Claude is being adopted for telephone customer service and virtual assistants, and yet customers are unaware they are talking to a computer instead of a live person. And as AI technology advances, these tools will continue to get better and better. As an experiment, a while ago I just AI to create a healthy meal plan which you can see here: https://palmbeachexaminer.substack.com/p/we-ask-open-ai-for-some-help-with
